Although, this may be true it is important to examine whether these graduates are working in their area of study or if they have acquired different positions, if so how are those with higher educational backgrounds being influenced by their former education? Consequently, Parkin fails to address that acquiring a post-secondary degree is not the only factor considered when applying or a position. In reality, employers are not only considering the education one gets within a classroom but also the education on receives through experience. He also doesn’t provide us with the statistics of how many of those who are more likely to have stable jobs hold master’s or doctorate degrees.
