REFLECTION FOR CHAPTER 2
Chapter 2 is all about the internet; it is the worldwide system of interconnected computer networks that transmit data by packet switching using a standard set of communication protocols called TCP/IP or transmission control protocol/internet protocol. It is a network of networks that is made up of millions of private, public, commercial, academic, and government networks from local to global scope. The Web is a way to access information over the medium of the Internet. The Web also utilizes the use of browsers such as Internet Explorer, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Dolphin and Opera. They are used to access data such as photos, videos, movies, games, music and text. The Internet access is a service that provides access to the global system of interconnected computer networks known as the Internet. Public places that use internet include libraries, café, schools, lounge, hotels, malls, coffee shops, airport halls and many more. The different types of communication are thru Electronic Mail or E-mail, Instant Messaging, Social Networking, Blogging, Microblog, and Wiki. E-mail is a method of exchanging digital messages from a sender to a receiver. Instant Messaging is a form of communication over the internet that offers an immediate transmission of text based messages from a sender to another in any part of the globe. Social-Networking is an online service, platform, or site that focuses on building and reflecting of social networks or social relations among people who share interest and activities. Blogging is a mixture of what is happening in a person’s life. It is another term for online diary. Microblog is a type of blog that allows users to publish short text updates. Bloggers can usually use a number of services for updates including instant messaging, e-mail, or Twitter. Wiki is a type of service that allows users to freely create and edit what is written in the web. Search engines are web sites or software
