Hello and welcome everyone my name is Michael and today I will be presenting to you all the different resources and things we could use to look into products that we want and get the most for our money and making it count. We are always going to be looking for the best of the best when we shop but also want to know if we really are getting that bang for our buck and how long will it last us?. I know that it can sometimes be hard to shop and look for products especially technological ones that continue to grow and expand upgrading constantly every year sitting on a shelf amongst ten others of the same value and similar uses. I want to inform everyone that it can be easier and to be on the safe side when it comes to shopping and looking into all the different products and comparing them side by side to one another. You can use so many sources to find what you’re looking for and know that you’re getting it for a good price and hopefully with a warranty so that it will outlast your lifetime and have you know that you’re getting the deal you originally wanted but didn’t know it yet.…

Because the student who does an internship receives credit from the university, graded credit determined by the technical writing faculty, there needs to be documentation in addition to the site supervisor's evaluation as a basis for that graded credit. Submitting an internship report not only provides the faculty with a document which qualifies the student for graded credit, it also provides the faculty with in-depth information about the profession they are responsible for preparing students to participate in. Furthermore, and of considerable importance, the internship report increases the student's responsibility by requiring the student intern to gather information and plan the report throughout the work experience. The student then has an opportunity to demonstrate maturity as a technical writer by presenting, analyzing, and evaluating his or her own work on the job.…

This past summer I decided to do my internship at the Holiday Inn Select in downtown Lafayette. The facility was built 4 years ago and was built right in the center of downtown. In the past year a hospitality group named Hostmark bought out the hotel. However, Hostmark decided not to change the Holiday Inn Select name. Therefore, even though it is under the brand name of the Holiday Inn it is ran according to all of the Hostmark policies. The Holiday Inn Select is a full service hotel which includes many structures. Among these structures are a fine dining restaurant, a martini lounge, a pool, gift shop, banquet facilities, meeting spaces, physical fitness facility, and of a course a laundry room. Hostmark as a company highly values employees and their commitment to the company. The mission statement of the hotel is as follows…”Hostmark hospitality group is a management and development company committed to excellence of service in the hospitality industry, while maximizing profitability through concern for its associates, customers, and investors.” A few of Hostmark’s core values include commitment, open and interactive atmosphere, sense of family/belonging to a team, concern for individual growth and development, and integrity. Therefore, Hostmark highly values their employees well being and they want them to succeed as well as have an all around open ambiance for the employees to be around. Another key character of the management philosophy that Hostmark carries out is that they want all employees to be able to make their own decisions. Since it is a full service hotel the general manager cannot be everywhere at once to make decisions for every department. Therefore, the employees should be trained to handle just about any situation that may arise including problems with guests or other personnel. Next I want to talk about what sort of business clientele the hotel usually markets…

During my internship I have had the opportunity to watch and learn from those around me. I was able to learn about different leadership styles and how people reacted to the managers. My internship offered a couple different challenges. The most difficult challenge was learning to work with difficult people. There were many times that I wanted to just give up, but I had to learn that no matter where I work I am likely to encounter at least one person that I think is tough to work with. After accepting this truth, I was able to overcome the overwhelming urge to change jobs. Even though many of my tasks seemed repetitive, from time to time, there were small changes made that helped make simple tasks complicated.…

This internship provides the chance to apply the theories I have learned from my major subjects specifically in psychological testing and administration and guidance and counseling. In line with psychological testing and administration, my experience focuses on tagging names to student’s personal data inventory, tallying student’s personal data, administering and interpreting a psychological test. From these experiences, I was able to recognize and understand how a psychological test as an instrument would help students, parents of the students, teachers as well as the improvement of a certain institution or school. Through psychological test results, psychometricians would be able to assess wealth of information on effective study habits for students, effective ways of teaching skills for teachers, etc. This enhances student school performance and reveals maximum learning potential. A psychometrician is responsible for administering and interpreting a psychological test through this psychometricians will become a channel to the guidance counselors as to what programs can be proposed that would become a response to students needs.…
