Internship Report

Introduction
The summer training sessions is a beneficial way for students to be introduced to their field of study and be given a closer look at what’s waiting ahead when their career starts. Meanwhile, it helps students better understand the materials during their junior year. In the meantime, this is a better and more beneficial way of spending the summer vacation.

Company profile
The engineering firm was established in 19--. It contains several registered as well as some entry level engineers. The lead engineers are as follow:

Training Hours
Duties were divided into three major parts:
1 – Planning and design
2 – Permitting and red lines
3 – Construction
The training took place from 8:00 am until 1:30 pm daily except Saturday and Sundays.
Projects
During my training I participated in the following projects:
A – Designing a villa which is located in al-Kalmoun.
Some of the duties included the following:
Participated in receiving new projects and learned the process of planning a project from scratch.
Trained on the design phase of projects and dealt with different challenges that we faced and had to visit work sites to come up with solutions.
Training Locations & Evaluation
The main training location was the main office where all the planning, drafting and designing took place.
The villa we are working on is located in Al-Kalmoun. The owner is the engineer Maa’n Dankar.
Description of the Project
Lot area: 1550 m2
Exploitation Factor: 35%
General exploitation factor: 105%
Rules followed:
• 60% stone cladding for each façade.
• 60% minimum red tiles.
Working phases
1. Designing the 2 main elevations of the villa inspired by the ottoman, classical architecture as the customer recommended.
2. The plans and facade that we designed are not final and it will occur some changes.
3. The sketches are first drafts, and they will be modified in order to obtain the desire results.
