In this lab I learned a lot about myself and my classmates. For example, I learned that I was more privileged than I thought I was. Before this class I thought the privieged were only the wealthy. In this class I learned that privilege can be measured by a variety of things. I learned that many things that you do not think of privileges are privileges and people in other countries do not have these privileges. I learned I took these privileges for granted. In this lab I discovered that students do not talk about our diversity and privileges outside the classroom. I learned that I knew very little about other countries privileges related to race, gender, sex, and sexuality. It made me realize how privileged I am in the world. In some other countries I would have fewer rights and privileges than I currently have because I am a white woman. The lab helped me realize that other groups of people (even those in the same locations as I am) have fewer privileges than I do. I realized that most of the factors that affects privilege are giving me some untold privilege. The intersectionality lab gave me a more realistic view of the privileges I have compared to others in the same location (in the world, in the U. S. A. and in Albion). It enlightened the lack of privileges that other groups of people face and the privileges men have that women do not have fully yet.
In conclusion, this lab helped me get a better sense of the diversity and the privileges of myself and my classmates. This lab helped me realize the factors that affect how privileged you are. The lab showed the factors that help define diversity. It helped me better understand my place in Albion College, the world, and the U. S. A. Finally it helped me identify the privileges that go with my identity and
