Some patients opened up and discussed their desire to stop using substances and other desired resources to assist with changing their negative lifestyle. My competence in my ability to build rapport with clients grew. I was confident that I showed compassion, empathy, and support that each patient needed when working to make a change in their life.
• Your experiences with supervision, colleagues, or inter-professional practice o Inter-professional practice played an important part in my professional experience this week. Staffs in the IVPP program are also colleagues in the social work field. It was also rewarding to see how social works can be used in different avenues in the hospital setting. I was also delighted to receive more insight into the program that will help me in working with future patients. I learned that building valuable relationships with colleagues and inter-professionals help to build a stronger referral sources and stronger bond between providers.
