* Tell us more about yourself.
My Name is Harkrishan Singh and I am currently pursuing Bachelors of Management Studies in Narsee Monjee College. I am a fun loving person who likes to venture out different things. Playing tabla, Reading Current events, and listening to music are few of my hobbies. * Were you expecting to top in the exams? To whom would you credit this success to?
Seriously speaking I have an objective in life, wherein “I do my best and leave the rest”. So when it came to University exams I gave my best shot and dint have any expectations regarding the result.
I would give the credit to all my professors and the coordinator at my college who taught me various subjects and made sure that I got the best guidance. * Did you prepare religiously from day One or A few weeks before the exams?
Yes I did prepare religiously for university examinations. I always kept myself abreast with the portion by reading theory subjects and practicing practical subjects on a regular basis. I try my absolute hardest to achieve greatness. I still can’t believe you haven’t even bothered to look at one of my superb test/assignment results over the years, which says ‘Excellent’ or ‘A’ on the front. My effort is one of my best qualities and I always put in 110% all the time. For instance, when we were in Art class, everyone was mucking around taking terrible photos but mine (as the teacher said)…

I always strived to do the best that I can, in everything that I do, and this especially applies to academics. In 6th grade, I joined the honors program at my middle school; from then on forward, I made sure than my work was of high enough quality so that the following year I would be placed in honors courses. These courses are what I believe prepared me for my success in high school. I got a taste of what it was like to be in an environment where every pupil was hungry for an education and for knowledge, and I grew to want to learn as much as my classmates. I entered high school with courses that upperclassmen had that challenged me more than anything else had before. It was during my freshman year of high school that I realized that I couldn’t…

Based on the information given I see this as an act of terrorism because of where the explosion went off. Any explosion on a military base cannot be defined as a terrorist attack versus just an attack. In this case attacking the community center means you are looking at killing not just members of the U.S. military but also the families that reside there. Not knowing the history of the militants in Flooa and neither how they classify themselves you would not want to immediately put the stamp of terrorism on any explosive activity. With the area being attacked and the civilian community targeted just as much as the military I definitely qualify this as terrorism.…

Success is a process of changeling obstacles. In order to succeed you must overcome these obstacles. Motivation is the driving force behind success, it is the entity that makes people do things they don’t want to. Studying is key to success, there is a high correlation between studying and success. Serval studying skills such as pre-test taking and taking clearer notes can put you on course with your goals. I’ve learned that success is not something defined by others it depend only on you and your goals. This is important because success should only rely on yourself and not others. This year I plan on tackling success by means of motivating myself and studying a lot. I intend to complete the goals I set and succeed in my…

My first SMART goal was, “By the end of the course, I will have worked efficiently with my team and with my own individual work in order to receive an A in the course”. Although I will not receive an A in the class, I am proud of the progress I have made in the class. I was able to receive a 91% on the midterm which has allowed me to skip taking the final. I am very proud of the grade I received because it reflects the amount of effort I have placed into the class thus far. I have made mistakes in the past regarding the SAR and missed quizzes which has served as a lesson to learn from. I must take responsibility for my actions, correct myself and then keep moving forward.…

Like most children, we grow up being praised and told how we will be the future presidents or prime minister. The point here to that success is the key. Success is different from each and every perspective. I believe that focusing on the present which would be school is most important as it builds a strong foundation for my future. Growing up in a well disciplined family, I was always successful academically, always getting As and rarely any Bs as well as receiving nine awards at last year’s award ceremony. Even will all that, it is not what satisfies me the most. What I truthfully admire is my influence towards my peers. Growing up with them I knew that their grades were not always as good, but unknowingly they got better. I was the only boy with great academics so the parents of my classmates would use me as a role model when lecturing their children. As time passed, they followed my footsteps and gradually improved. Although it may not show, I am truthfully pleased with this accomplishment of mine.…

Now, that it is the end of the semester it is easy for me to say, “I should have done this, instead of that.” However, foresight can be quite difficult when laying out your education goals. I am now working on education satisfaction, asking for help when I need it, and working on my personal achievement goals.…

Sukanya Krishnan, a final year B.Tech (Computer Science) student at IIT Kanpur, was one of those lucky few who bagged a job the first round of campus interview. It was her dream job - a fabulous pay packet from an US-based software giant with housing accommodation at Bangalore and an opportunity to go overseas on assignments. But the honeymoon lasted only for a brief time - till the industry was hit with recession. Soon their Indian office was running short of assignments and was forced to downsize. For the first time, Krishnan felt the need to upgrade her technical skills to remain employable. She applied for a sabbatical leave and within a few months, she was off for an M.Tech programme in Computer Science at Princeton University, USA. It proved profitable for the company too, as it was a way of saving money when business was slack. When she came back, she not only had a job waiting for her in the same place but also a promotion for the extra skills she had acquired.…
