Interview of Chetan Bhagat
Chetan bhagat is one of the most popular authors in fiction category in India. The author of five point someone got his fame from his first novel. He has written fiction novels like one night at call centre, three mistakes, 2 states and Revolution 2020.
Chetan bhabat is a Delhi born author and studied from Army public school, New Delhi. Later, he took admission in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) where he did his bachelors of engineering specializing in mechanical engineering. He then got admission in Indian Institute of management Ahmadabad (IIMA) where he was named as “Best outgoing student”. After completing his MBA chetan bhagat got a job at Deutsche bank, Hong Kong for 11 years as a Investment banker. In 2008 chetan Bhagat left his investment banking job and moved to Mumbai permanently where he started his career as full time author.
He also writes articles on political issues in columns like Dainik bhaskar and Times of India, Some of his columns have been discussed in parliament. Chetan bhagat speech “Spark” delivered at Pune was liked by lot of people and got a mass publication in newspapers
Question: Tell us about the young Chetan Bhagat. The one before IIT.
Question: You left a secure (though it isn't as safe a field these days!) and lucrative career to pursue the writing dream, a life that is notoriously unpredictable. What helped you make the decision? How long did it take to make the break? Any regrets? Did it help that your wife is a successful professional in her own right?
Question: If things don't stay as good as they have been thus far — if your next books doesn't sell as much the previous ones, for instance — do you have a Plan B?
Question: What, in your opinion, are the ingredients of your personal success story? How much of your success do you attribute to having the right skills and instincts, to doing the hard grind, to being the right person with the right book at the right time, to very intelligent marketing and pricing?
