Into The Dark Water Summary
The article “Into The Dark Water” by Lauren Tarshis is about what happened to the Titanic. Lauren Tarshis used quotes to show what Jack Thayer a 17 year old boy on the ship. Lauren Tarshis put what Jack was thinking about. It shows what it's really like to be through this situation.
The first quote Lauren Tarshis put in about Jack Thayer was “ It was the kind of night,” Jack would later recall, “that made one glad to be alive.” When Jack said that he meant that the view was amazing and the stars were like diamonds. It also shows that it was calm and relaxing. In the text it said “ Yet at 11:00 that evening, April 14, 1912 there was no hint of doom in the air.” There was no sight of danger happening at all. It was just a peaceful night.
