Into the Wild
Into The Wild Essay Chris McCandless is visualized as an intelligent, extremely driven, and passionate subject by Jon Krakauer, the author of the novel Into The Wild. McCandless's greatest goal is to successfully travel to Alaska, a trip he has longingly been motivated to achieve. He undergoes countless obstacles throughout his adventure with some lack of needed necessities and maturity, leaving individuals who possess the knowledge of his travels to perceive McCandless as purely insane. An opinionated Shaun Callarman articulates that "Chris McCandless was bright and ignorant at the same time. He had no business going into Alaska with his romantic silliness. He made a lot of mistakes based on arrogance. I don't admire him at all for his courage nor his noble ideas. Really, I think he was just plain crazy" (Callarman). I, however, honestly believe that Chris McCandless has an impressive dream, as do us all, and his actions are merely understated by those who find him out of the loop. All peoples can share a simple aspect with McCandless, and that is having a dream. What makes him dissimilar is the dedication he characterizes, revealing effortfully attempts in accomplishing his dream, without the dependence of anyone but himself. Throughout his life, McCandless revealed a profuse number of natural talents. But that as it may, he did not enjoy the coaching of others, which resulted in him not succeeding to his fullest extent in various situations. He was very skilled in different types of sports, but always managed to habitually refuse to follow any given directions to better himself to the point of his possible greatness. He was also quite a brainiac in school, as well. McCandles received all A's in school without much effort, except for one F, which was in Physics. His Physics teacher required a certain format for lab reports assigned to the students for a more manageable way of grading on the his part. Walt McCandless, Chris's father, remembers how “Chris

Into the wild is a book and a movie written by Jon Krakauer that is inspired by the actions of a college graduate named Chris McCandless. He lived a life on his own and was not the average person. Many people have different views and opinions about him and the way he chose to live his life. Shaun Callarman claims that he, “was bright and ignorant at the same time. He had no common sense, and he had no business going into Alaska with his Romantic silliness. He made a lot of mistakes based on ignorance. I don't admire him at all for his courage nor his noble ideas. He finds hardships with his family and decides to try and escape from them and from reality. Chris uses odd methods in changing his name, leaving his car deserted, and refusing to tell anyone close to him what he is doing or where he will be. He becomes a hitchhiker and goes on to explore nature everywhere ranging from beautiful oceans to the harsh Alaskan tundra. Chris is arrogant, ignorant, and selfish in his travels around the world and he doesn't listen to people, nor does he let them help him. As result of all these combined, and sort of an over-confidence in himself, he takes a heavy pitfall into his own death.…

The documentary Return to the Wild debates the two very different argued reasons of why Chris McCandless went into the wild. The writers choose to uncover the dark secrets of the McCandless family and to reveal the truth as to why Chris travelled into the Alaskan wilderness. The documentary adopts an intense tone in the beginning that shifts to a more light hearted attitude throughout the second half of the film using symbolism, cinematography, audio, and various interviews in order to explain to the viewers the grim childhood McCandless experienced and events that led him into the barren wilderness of Alaska.…

The novel Into the Wild is a nonfiction novel published by Jon Krakauer who investigated the life and death of a free spirited individual named Christopher McCandless. McCandless was a recent Emory University graduate who sought to suck the marrow out of life through an independent experience in nature and purposely sought to this experience in the rawest form of supplies. He was found dead in August of 1992 in an abandoned bus in the Alaskan wilderness. For the sake of his journey, he purposely didn't bring an adequate amount of food or supplies. Consequently, those who read of his actions wonder what evoked him to live the way he did. To explain this, Christopher's temperament type may adequately explain his actions and reasons for them. However, what was McCandless temperament type? Based on the evidence in the story, it's reasonable to infer Chris had an ISTP temperament type.…

The idea of a spontaneous adventure can spark the interest of anyone. Jon Krakauer's biography, Into the Wild, explores the life of Christopher McCandless, and his journey to the Alaskan Wilderness ultimately leading to his death. Into the Wild was written partially due to negative responses to an article written by Krakauer before the book about Chris was published. It was also written due to the connection he feels to Chris and his risk taking attitude because of the “unsettling parallels between events in [Chris’s] life and those in [Krakauers] own” (author's notes). Krakauer analyzes Chris’s mental and physical state before and during his time in the Alaskan wilderness, to disprove statements made towards Chris influencing readers that…

In chapter five Jack London states, “The dominant beast was strong in buck, and under the fierce conditions of trail life it grew and grew. Yet it was a secret growth. His newborn cunning gave him poise and control”, this relates to Chris and his journey by he was a strong young guy to go out into the wild alone. Chris was a beast because he survived off edible plants and he was proud of living off edible plants. It shows that Chris would do anything to survive; he was wild hearted! He lived a feared life! Chris didn't have any money, no car, and no food. So how would he survive? Chris was a smart young guy who knew that he was looking for in life and; he did it all alone. He did get help from people that saw him struggling out on the streets, he was working at McDonald. Every time people helped him out he would stay a few months with them but then he would leave and they wouldn’t seem him, or hear from him until they received a post card from him. Chris went to LA to get an ID but felt extremely weird in society that he needed to get back on the road. To me Chris was a different person, he doesn't like society, he wasn't a socialize person and he knew society wasn't for him. Chris was much happier living in the wilderness without anyone controlling him. Chris been living on the streets with bums, tramps, he also smell ready bad according to his mangers at McDonald. One of my favorite quotes Chris states in the book is “It is the experience , the memories, the great triumphant joy of living to the fullest extent in which real meaning is found”. Chris states that taking pictures in not important to him , that you need to live the experience to get the real meaning out of it, once you live it that’s all what matters to you.(Love of…
