Holistic development definition
In understading a childs development ,one must take a holistic approach to their learning and development. There are different areas or aspect to a child development including physical,Intellectual and communication development, emotional development ,social and behavioral development as well as spiritual and personal development.
The various aspect do not exist separatley, but rather they intermingle with each other in such a way to influence each other. This influence may impact less to the positive or negative side or some times more to one side then the other .These sides of influence is dependant on how one looks at the component involved as whole prespective of the child situation ie by breaking things down to their causes and effect. This is what the holistic approach entails .For instance an adult cannot use ones own personal judgement about a childs behavior of agression without looking at causes of the behavior in all its forms such as difficulty in expressing themselves ,would be due to lack of the skill at an appropriate age as well .
