1.1 BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Vishay Intertechnology was founded in 1962 by Dr. Felix Zandman. It began operations with a patented technology that had two product lines: foil and foil resistance strain gages. In 1985, having grown from a start-up into the world’s leading manufacturer of these original products, the company began an ongoing series of acquisitions to become a broad line manufacturer of electronics components.
Having expanded into so many product lines, Vishay announced in October 2009 that it would be creating a spinoff company which focuses on their high precision technologies in Foil Technologies. Vishay Precision Group represents approximately 9% of Vishay annual revenue, and included their product lines in Bulk Metal Foil Resistors, micro-measurements, load cells, process weighing, and on-board weighing. In July 2010, Vishay Intertechnology complete the spin-off of Vishay Precision Group (VPG).
Vishay uses a primary database made from a SAP of Oracle and is already an error-free database, however there is another issue that is not resolved by this database alone thus, a subsystem is needed to support its insufficiency.
The proposed study will develop to overcome their problems in the process of inventory.
1.2 Project Context
With the transition to an information-based society, computers and transactions have evolved from manual transaction. One of the solutions or alternatives to the problems that VISHAY records of the participants. The study emphasized the effects of the lack of the sub-system that will catch the rejected inventory items. Integrated
