Executive Summary
An inventory system is basically a process whereby a business keeps track of the goods and material it has available. In its simplest sense it can be done manually by a count at the end of each day. In this way it is possible to keep a record of the goods coming in to the business and goods being sold. However this is only really appropriate for small businesses that do not have a lot of stock. For larger business it is more likely that a computerized system will be required. Nowadays, we live in has been transformed immensely with the advent used of the information. At this time, almost every aspect of the human life is influenced by the rapid advancement of technology providing us with the novel opportunities and fresh challenges at the same time.
Computerization is basically concerned with the automation of task using computer-based information system. This process with the people involved in doing a certain task, which being replaced by particular machineries. Computerization would also mean less effort exerted, sine manual can be done in shorter span of time.
Since manual inventory consumes a lot of time and is prone to errors, it would be helpful to build a system that will computerize the transactions from acquisition of the product description to updating the inventory database. The computerized inventory system will improve employees’ work efficiency by computerizing routinely and time consuming tasks such as the time spent in taking down product information.
