A. Title
Talahib (Grass Roots)

B. ABSTRACT

A Detergent is a surfactant or a mixture of surfactants with cleaning
Properties in dilute solutions, sucrose with chemical formula (C12H22011) can be and agent in maxing laundry and Talahib Grass (Saccharum Sponteneum) is a coarse erect perennial grass that can produce sugar or sucrose in its roots.

Talahib Grass was collected from the fields of Brgy. 14 conception 3 Kg. Of Talahib Grass was washed with running water to remove any impunity. The Talahib Grass was extracted by boiling it in distilled water. The extract obtained from the plant was filtered using layered sterile filter paper to remove any debris. The extract is then filtered for the remaining dirt and impurities. Preparation of treatments was done 50% and 75% concentration of extracts were prepared. Based on the experiment and the result, the researchers conclude that the surfactant made is capable in removing stains.

C. INTRUDUCTION
Talahib grass is a coarse, erect perennial grass that can produce sugar or
Sucrose in its roots. And a detergent is a surfactant or a mixture of surfactants with cleaning properties in dilute solutions. Common laundry detergent contains harsh chemicals that may affect people.
Due to this study was pursuen to introduce an alternative laundry detergent using Talahib Grass (Saccharum Spontaneum Linn) Extracts. In this way people will be provided cheaper alternative laundry detergents and will contribute to lessening aquatic, terrestrial and health hazards caused by commercial detergent.

1. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY
Potential use of Talahib Grass Roots (Saccharum Spontaneum)-
Due to this fact, this study was pursued to introduce an alternative laundry detergent using Talahib grass root.

2. STATE OF THE PROBLEM AND OBJECTIVE
1. Is the surfactant made capable of removing stain?
2. Would Talahib Grass (SaccharumSpontaneum Linn) Roots extract be more effective surfactant in washing clothes than the commercial
Products?
3. Is the Laundry surfactant environmental friendly?

3. SIGNIFICANT OF THE PROJECT
FOR THE COMMUNITY: The community would lessen the expenses in terms of their needs for cleaning clothes due to high prices of some laundry
Detergent.
FOR THE RESEARCHERS: The researchers will continue in making laundry detergents in a cheaper
And safer way.
4. DELIMITATION AND LIMITATION OF THE PROJECT
This study aimed to prove that Talahib Grass
(Saccharum Spontaneum Linn) Can be used as Laudry surfactant. It dealt with the use of Talahib grass (Saccharum Spontaneum Linn). Can be used as Laundry Surfactant. If Dealt with the use of Talahib Grass (Saccharum Spontaneum). The Experiment was tested on stained clothes. This study limited itself only to the possibility of Talahib Grass (Saccharum Spontaneum Linn) to be used as a Laundry Surfactant.
5. REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

D. METERIALS / METHOD
The experimental method of research was used. This is an experimental
Wherein the researcher manipulated one variable, and controlled/ randomized the rest of the variables.

MATERIALS:
Rotary Evaporator
Talahib Grass Roots
Tap Water
Distilled Water (for extraction)
Layered Sterile filter paper or stained

E. OBSERVATION / FINDINGS

    8. Surfactants are wetting agents that lower the surface tension of a liquid, allowing easier spreading, and lower the interfacial tension between two liquids. Surfactants improve water's ability to wet things, spread over surfaces, and seep into dirty clothes fibres. One end of their molecule is attracted to water, while the other end is attracted to dirt and grease. So the surfactant molecules help water to get a hold of grease, break it up, and wash it away. Soaps and detergents are both emulsifying agents and…

    * As a well-known fact, waste products are very harmful to the environment. Having no concern regarding the earth's subsequent and harmful transformation may lead to a traumatic scene which is merely brought by our own ignorance. The initial step to avoid this is to recycle and by all means, creating a valuable stuff out of garbage. We came up with the idea of turning banana peels into liquid detergent. Banana peels can't be recycled because they rot eventually. The extraction of mixed fatty acids from the banana peels would be the most essential part of making the detergent. There are no specific requirements regarding the raw material. Any kind or size will do. With the simple process of preparation and convenient operation, the invention will be a success thus, suitable for industrial production. Moreover, the invention is also suitable for wide popularization and application.…

    Detergents

A detergent is a surfactant or a mixture of surfactants with "cleaning properties in dilute solutions."[1] These substances are usually alkylbenzenesulfonates, a family of compounds that are similar to soap but are more soluble in hard water, because the polar sulfonate (of detergents) is less likely than the polar carboxyl (of soap) to bind to calcium and other ions found in hard water. In most household contexts, the term detergent by itself refers specifically to laundry detergent or dish detergent, as opposed to hand soap or other types of cleaning agents. Detergents are commonly available as powders or concentrated solutions. Detergents, like soaps, work because they are amphiphilic: partly hydrophilic (polar) and partly hydrophobic (non-polar). Their dual nature facilitates the mixture of hydrophobic compounds (like oil and grease) with water. Because air is not hydrophilic, detergents are also foaming agents to varying degrees.…
