Abstract

The title of our investigatory project is “Lanzones Peel as Mosquito Coil”. This study aims to find out if Lanzones Peel can really repel mosquitoes and help us reduce the number of people who have mosquito bourne disease.

The researchers dried the lanzones peels and after that, we pulverized it using mortar and pestle then we mixed it with cornstarch and water. After the mixing process we molded it in a spiral shape. And we put it in the oven for five minutes.

The researchers, use a questionnaire which answers if the mosquito is effective to repel mosquitoes. It is answered by Yes and No to view the subjected analysis of our product. The rspondents are requested to use the mosquito coil we made in about one week and given a survey and answer the questions. The statistical data will be interpreted in percentage. RESULT

The researchers concluded that the lanzones peels ARE truly effective in driving away mosquitoes. The mosquito coil we made is also environmentally friendly and is made from natural ingredients. It is recommended

Interest is increasing in ways to protect against mosquitoes. One of the commonest is the use of insect repellents. Methods: Tests were undertaken to determine the effectiveness of three mosquito repellents: 95% DEET, Avon Skin So Soft bath oil, and a “special mixture” of substances thought to have insect repellent qualities.     The use of pesticides is an important decision that thousands of communities face each year. Nobody likes dealing with mosquitos and the diseases they bring so using chemicals and pesticides is an option but with other consequences. Mosquitos carry West Nile Virus that affects the city of Genericville every year with 50 cases projected this year in the city and two fatalities as well. On the other hand, the chemicals proposed for controlling the mosquito population has its own risks.
