Iodine Vs Chlorine Research Paper
Chlorine is more reactive than Iodine. Chlorine has higher Electronegativity meaning that it is has a higher chance of attracting another atom than Iodine. Chlorine also has higher ionization energy because of its smaller atomic size. The smaller the atom, the closer the electrons are to the nucleus increasing the pull it has on them. This indicates that it will be harder for another atom to take away the electrons from Chlorine when compared to Iodine.
