iPhone 6 vs. iPhone 6s: Does it Make a Difference? If someone has already purchased the iPhone 6, should they be preparing their wallets for the tempting upgrade to the 6s? Apple has been on an uphill rise in the production of phones ever since their first launch of the iPhone 3G in 2007. Since their first release years ago, Apple is all the way up to their tenth phone. The majority of these iPhones resemble one another almost identically. In 2014 Apple released the strangely similar iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s, confusing many customers. The 6s comes with many new features that increased the processors, bumping the price up by $101 from the original $549 for the iPhone 6. However, a closer look reveals a few almost miniscule differences. The iPhone 6s is half an ounce heavier and only 0.01 inches thicker. Both phones are the same height and width, 5.44 inches by 2.64 inches, and both feature the same 4.7-inch display. Although, the iPhone 6s is more sturdy than the 6, as it uses 7000 Series aluminum alloy. Apple did this to try to avoid a repeat of “Bendgate”, an issue the iPhone 6 Plus had where the phone would start to bend in half after owning the cell phone for a longer period. Apple also implemented rose gold and gold versions on the iPhone 6s for more color options, although both versions come in space grey and silver. They include headphone jacks, the well-known circular home button, and the same charger ports. With no major cosmetic differences between the two, it is easy to see how the dual release confused the customers. Compared to one another, the newer iPhone 6s was essentially designed as an improvement of the earlier models. Although it’s not another number upgrade, the iPhone 6s is worth the extra $101. With the innovative 3D Touch, the superior camera, and exceeding RAM capabilities, the iPhone 6s shouldn’t be overlooked as a result of its outward similarities to the iPhone
