Is climate change human driven?
Introduction:
Climate change is a change in global or regional climate patterns, and has attributed greatly to the increased levels of carbon dioxide within the earth’s atmosphere, which is said to be produced by the use of fossil fuels. For many years scientists have been predicting that that the results of climate change would include loss of sea ice, accelerated sea level rise and more intense heat waves of a longer length. Scientists also have high confidence that global temperatures will continue to rise for decades to come, and this being largely due to the greenhouse gases produced by human activity.
However, the extent to which scientists can blame human activity as being the main causation factor of global warming is debateable. This is due to the idea that other possible factors responsible for causing global warming must be considered when looking to investigate the causation of global warming such as volcanoes, respiration in animals, and the history of the earth’s fluctuations in climate, rather than just human activity alone.
Discussion:
Some scientists might argue that human activity may be the causation of the increase in global temperatures. More recent statements and reports from the world's leading scientific bodies have said the same thing. For example, a 2010 summary of climate science by the Royal Society stated that: “There is strong evidence that the warming of the Earth over the last half-century has been caused largely by human activity, such as
