Is College Worth The Investement

“A college degree is always an investment worth making,” said by Franklyn M. Casale in the Miami Herald. The first mistake Franklyn made was saying that a degree is always worth the investment because nothing is the same for everyone, making the use of the word “always” incorrect. Casale states in his paper that in college, you develop most into yourself, the future is brighter for those with a college degree, and that if someone has a college degree they are better for the economy. While I personally believe it is good for a person to go to college and get a degree, I disagree with the points Casale made. College may be a good investment but not for everyone and certainly not always. Casale started his post in the Miami Herald by saying, “…he or she develops as a person in ways that cannot be measured by the “investment” of going to college.” Even though I have not been to college yet, I disagree fully with this statement because there are so many other experiences that influence us into who we are. Society makes it seem like those with a college degree are more likely to get a job, however, this is untrue.
