Is Jimmy Valentine Courageous?

A Retrieved Reformation Jimmy Valentine was a new man. Jimmy Valentine was a safe cracker who turned his life around after he met the girl of his dreams. He was caught safe cracking in the early days of his career and sent to jail. After he met the girl of his dreams he stopped safe cracking and went straight. before, he was a man of not so good morals that stole from others, but the following pieces of evidence show he was trying to be a moral person later on in the story, he became more courageous, he becomes respectful to others, and he becomes more responsible than he was before. Jimmy was more of a moral person because he was courageous, being courageous is a quality that only a moral person would have. It is obvious that that Jimmy was now courageous because in the text it says, “Jimmy went to the Planters Hotel, registered as Ralph D. Spencer, and engaged a room.” now, why does this bit of text from the story shows he was courageous? it is because he was courageous enough to change his identity so he could be with the woman he loves, which in turn shows he was moral because, once
Now that could be a sort of convincing argument if it weren't for the fact that he only changed his name so he could live a normal life with Annabel without having to worry about being arrested one day. You could also say he hasn't changed because the text says he cracks a safe in the end. This is true, he did crack another safe at the end, but he only did it to save a little girl, not to steal from it. Finally you could say that because he gives his friends his old tools he is still bad because now his friends will crack safes. This is sort of true but he only did it to prove to them he still respects them as friends. In conclusion Jimmy is not the man he was
