Is War Beneficial to Mankind?
War is a horrible medium, which has been used for hundreds of thousands of years, to achieve certain goals through the use of force. The major causes for war are resources, which can be territory, water, gold, minerals or animals; and ideologies: political beliefs, religion, philosophical differences. In other words, brutal outrageous kings, rulers, commanders and emperors possessed the purpose of having power and control over the whole world. But do these egoistic goals really bring benefit to humanity?

Many people are sure that any war is unfair and should be stopped, as it brings only harm and damage. People are losing their homes, relatives, lives, but they aren’t even the part of the war. Many men want to refuse participating in war and killing people, but they must do it because of a draft. Millions of innocent people are dying, e.g. casualties in WWI were above 11 millions, in WWII – almost 60 millions, and in the War in Iraq – already near 107 thousands and the death count still increases every day.

War also destroys the towns, earth, and nature and brings terrible chaos to the land, where it occurs. Many plants, factories, historical buildings are crushed down and there is the enormous harm to the environment. Mother Nature gives all men so many miracles, and in return it gets great suffering from such a horrible activity as war.

Moreover, war affects every citizen, as everybody has to pay money for the soldiers, theirs travels and food. For example, in the WWI 196.5 billion of dollars was spent, in the WWII – $2,091.3 billion, and the War in Iraq has already cost $753,201,827,717 and has increased by $102, 734 while I was writing these words. It means that some people pay for the death of others without being able to refuse from it.

War is not fair in any of its meanings and none of its goals can justify using violence and killing people. Only peace and harmony all over the world bring real benefits to humanity and make everyone feel happy.

Although war may not always be the first answer or the most beneficial, it is an inescapable evil because war has brought the world peace and prosperity while banding people together to fight for a cause. It leads to national growth and solves domestic problems between countries; Injustice and tyranny can be quelled as the aftereffect of war. On the contrary, war includes loss of human life, spreads of diseases, and induces a feeling of anxiety and dismay among communities. The brutal sacrifices that innocent people undergo may not be worth the outcome.…

The idea of war brings up many questions about life and death, suffering, and consequences. While many people may see war as something that affects people as a whole, such as nations or a persecuted group, war further impacts every individual, whether or not they are directly involved. War limits freedoms and individualism, and in most cases people find themselves with less rights than during peacetime. People base their choices not on what they feel, and more on what they have to do to survive. Soldiers and civilians alike are influenced by war in different ways, however, these tie together when the overall effects of war are examined.…

War is unfair for a numerous number of reasons. One particular reason is how it yanks people into it. For example, on page 94, Life Meeker states, “Where it ends up I don’t know and I don’t care.” This shows how people get dragged in. The bulk of people don’t even care about the war and just want to live their lives normally. This isn’t a war citizens can evade since it’s across…

War is a very controversial topic for many people. Depending on the person’s outlook on the war, it can be depicted as something good or bad. War brings destruction wherever it goes, whether it is on a place or the people, and it ultimately is inevitable. War also protects a country from having further destruction and keeps the people at home safe from any danger. As a person can see in many recordings of war, there are many comparisons and contrasts that are expressed through soldiers, veterans, and civilians. Some comparisons seen in many of the testimonies given by effected people are dehumanization, dislocation, and alienation; but they also have contrasts that can be seen through nationalism, technological advancements, and the coming home for many…

To conclude, there is no doubt that the conflict of war is a useless encounter that affects many innocent people’s lives, the economic stability and physiological wellbeing of soldiers. It is evident that in some circumstances society makes war to ensure peace, and on the surface this seems rational, even plausible. However, in reality throughout the journey there is a great human and economic cost…

War is ubiquitous; there will always be one country at war with another during all the times of the year. The first recorded war was in 2700 BCE in Mesopotamia between Sumer and Elam, and the latest have been the Syrian and Iraq wars. Although there have been countless amounts of changes in warfare since 2700 BCE there will forever be a constant controversy about what good comes from war. While soldiers are risking their lives across the world civilians are at home contemplating the pros and cons of warfare. Though trauma that accompanies war is unforgivable, war is not entirely useless. Without it countries and people around the world would be taken advantage of. The destruction left behind by war is nothing in comparison to the catastrophic…

Football has become the most popular sport in America. Boys start playing at the age of 6 and, if they turn pro, could play into their 30’s or even 40’s. Some people will say, “They know what they’re signing up for” or “The players choose to play the game”. Just because they may choose to play the game, does that mean that they don’t deserve the very best protection that technology can afford them. I don’t think so. The more we learn about what “playing the game’ can do to the human body, in particular the brain, it only makes sense that we use the latest technology to help prevent as much damage as we can.…

Both The Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli and Utopia by Thomas Moore examine the role and the importance of war to maintain a strong and successful society. More (via Hythloday) believes that war should be the last option and is not needed in a safe and happy government without the help of auxiliaries and mercenaries while on the other hand, Machiavelli believes that war plays a crucial war in a prosperous and thriving society using other troops and people to avoid war. Machiavelle uses his belief that war is the way to have a strong successful government to shape the society of Italy while More uses the belief of peace and forbearance of war to shape his utopian society.…

One of the leading effects of wars to the environment is human loss. In the article, “American Individualism” Hoover (n.d) writes that “Older men declare war.
