Scenario
You are part of a sales team which has been sent overseas to promote your organisation and negotiate new sales contracts. During the trip conditions in the country you are visiting suddenly become unstable. The airport is closed and the streets are unsafe. There are unfriendly militia in the streets and the locals are armed and angry.

How would you ensure that everyone was involved in the planning and decision-making process?
In this situation it would be limited based on the danger involved – I would make a decision and ask for a buy-in if the other members of the team are looking at me to take on the leadership role.

No, because at some point you have to take ownership, even in the face of danger.
10. How would you allocate or delegate tasks?
Based on known skill sets, otherwise based on ability.
11. What factors do you think would affect the motivation of the team?
The level of danger involved, the level of success of the goals/objectives
12. What contingency plans did you make? Why were they necessary?
To find the ‘field expedient’ antenna material and use the materials to set up an emergency satellite antenna up-link to direct the rescue helicopter into the makeshift landing zone.
To walk to the border of the nearest friendly country.
