In the book the main character, Greg, and his brothers Rodrick and Manny, are surprised with a trip to Isla De Corales as a christmas present from their parents. The trip starts out when the family’s flight gets delayed and they get stuck at the airport. After A day of delays the family finally gets on their overbooked plane and takes off towards their destination. When Greg’s family boarded the place they were split up. Greg had a lot of anxiety about flying. When they finally got to Isla De Corales and checked into their hotel room, they realized that their luggage had been swapped.
