The Drover’s Wife heavily explores feelings of isolation both on a physical and psychological level. Being sheltered away in a segregated hut from her husband and rejected by both the females figures of her community and her husband(add quote). In response to this I have also explored isolation on a physical and psychological level. By situating the bond to her own apartment due to the responsibility of watching over her son. Additionally the main character indirectly expressed feelings of isolation on a psychological level through her relationship with others.

My story centres around a mother and a child, with child appearing to create an alienating environment for the mother.
