It’s the Economy, Student!

As the saying goes, “No one touches a dirty pot without getting his/her hand dirty.” This reminds me of this topic.
Based on my own view about the article written by the former president and now the representative of Pampanga, Congresswoman Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, she had done many good things in our country such as:
Our climate changes each decade because everyday people neglected to do their duties in order to save our dying environment. We, as perfect creation of our God Almighty, promised to take care of His creatures but we fail doing it. We must do everything that we can to protect, flourished our nature or environment and its creation, but because of our personal interest and greediness, we explore in several ways on how to make money without thinking the damage that it would do to our world.
Moreover, even if we knew that the damage has been done, thus affecting the balance of nature, still we continue doing ways that would destroy our environment just to amaze more power and wealth.
Congresswoman Gloria M. Arroyo, in her given information, said that she was too concerned during her time in promoting how to save our dying environment and she even mentioned this in her talked to Asia Pacific Economic Council (APEC) convention.
It is very ironic, while she’s demonstrating her concern to our environment, several mining businesses were allowed to operate during her time such as the ones being mentioned in the news that there was this kind of mining, such as selling the entire mountain in Surigao Del Norte and shipping it to other countries such as China and other neighboring countries. I am just astonished on how perfect she played her game, playing around the circle. Now tell me who’s talking? The mountain that cannot be replaced anymore. And who will be to blame? The calamities, one after another, that we are experiencing this days, are the products of the great master plan of the once greedy person.

Having discussed the overall relationship of the economy and the environment, the focus shall now be shifted towards the ways in which the economy often mistreats and takes advantage the environment purely for its benefit. Instances of oil spills and earthquakes caused by fracking only help cement this and many people would argue that this is the case. I will now delve deeper into the growing global belief that the economy and the environment aren’t as symbiotic as many believe.…

It is a well-known fact that humans have been living on and modifying the earth since the beginning of time. Today, it is called “managing our resources” or “drilling responsibly,” but these actions still prove the arrogance of humanity to believe the earth is ours to manipulate. As we continue to inhabit this planet, we destroy our precious environment without concern for how our actions affect others who inhabit our planet. We are continually warned by scientists that our activities present danger to the environment. For example, our over-consumption is associated with limiting natural resources, and deforestation is a threat to the survival of all species on Earth. Trees produce oxygen, a necessity for life; what happens when it’s all gone? The future of the Earth remains in doubt, due to the damaging impacts that arise from the human’s greed for their own fulfillment and ego.…

As the film progresses, the issues on global warming, extinction of species, deforestation as well as the slowly disappearing ocean habitats is depicted giving the viewer the chance to think about what he/she ought to do now. These concerns are actually our country’s own, too. Deforestation as a result of illegal logging had played its part in making matters worse for the past few years – floods had devastated lives, no trees to stop it in its tracks. The drought the country is experiencing – a sign of global warming. Polluted bodies of water had driven out the freshness of the fish as well as other aquatic creatures. Even though it has its share of endangered species, the Philippines however, does not have concerns on the extinction of any at the moment. This is most likely because of many other things the government is busy with. But no matter how we look at it, what is happening to the ecosystem around the world is a large outcry to the acts of the past recurring now.…

Though the president has not been known for running her own business or becoming an entrepreneur, she has shown a lot of qualities for becoming one. First and most evident of all is her leadership. She was able to influence and bring the Filipinos together to a single goal, which is one of the qualities of a good manager. She also managed to stick to her goal, to restore democracy in our country, even if she has encountered a lot of difficulties along the way; such as several coup attempts against her government. She has persevered despite all of the challenges that she encountered. Though the former president grew up in a prominent family, she was raised in learning values such as hard work and frugality from her parents and grandparents. These can also be considered as…
