Helping students to build self-confidence is a big responsibility for teachers, especially for underachievers whose academic performances are yet to be improved. A student can get frustrated about a low score. But things like this happen a lot to the student and if the teacher pays no attention to encouraing him, it is likely that he will give up on himself and stop working hard for any progress. Likewise, if a teacher is not open to questions or challenges in class, chances are that the students will be afraid to speak themselves up from now on. Teachers play an important role in letting the students know that everyone has his/her strengths and weaknesses, and everyone can make progress if they work hard enough. The thing is, students should feel, in the very first place, that the teachers notice their efforts and cheer up them when they are stuck.
However, it is also of great importance for teachers to teach specific knowledge. Students attend school to acquire knowledge. If teachers fails to impart knowledge to their students, the school hours would be a waste of time and they could as well save the tuition fees and have fun at home. Specific knowledge in arts and sciences not only lays the theoretical foundation for students’ senior academic career, but also prepares them with professional skills they need for future career success. Also, learning knowledge cultivates a person’s comprehensive quality, which makes the persistence of a civilized society possible. A country with better educated citizens tend to witness fewer juvenile delinquencies. In addition, a good teacher is capable of developing students’ interests in learning or in a certain subject. I have cultivated an interest in literature since my 7th year of school because Mr. Robert, the then literature teacher, gave us informative courses in such a funny way that we had fun learning.

What a teacher says to a student can have the same effect as to what a parent says to their child. Learning is a natural ability that is wired into many animals DNA; the way that humans should learn has been debated by the various educators because of the endless ways to teach. Teachers and parents take this matter seriously like Ralph Waldo Emerson in “From Education” and Todd Gitlin in “The Liberal Arts in an Age of Info-Glut” who created essays on education; and Billy Collins in “The History Teacher” entail for then and who wrote a poem concerned with the status of education. These people show what the importance of education is entailing what learning should and should not involve; a teacher should respect and have patience for children; a teacher should also let a child have creativity and lessons of the past.…

In my class I observed how my classmates interact with their teacher and how it affect them in class. Most students who had a very chilled teacher had a very loud class. The teacher would teach their lesson and the students would pay attention. After, the teaching was over the students would interact with each other and the teacher. I realized that most teachers who were honest and didn’t really act like a teacher students felt more comfortable. For example, the girl with the curly hair asked the pale pink cheeked teacher what he does when he gets home. His responds was playing Grand Theft Auto. Knowing this, many of the guy students come in every day and asked about what level he has accomplished. Many of the girls would joke with him and ask about his love life. He responds as if he doesn’t mind talking about his personal life. Students that I observed and interviewed said that he was very honest and that’s what they expect from their teachers. The teacher with the blue eyes and very soothing voice helped my light and skinny friend with her relationship. As she sat at his desk sobbing her story to him, he soothed her with his voice and gave her the wisdom to confront the problem and be the strong one in her relationship. With other students seeing this, gave them the ability to trust their teacher with not only school work but also with personal life situations. Many students come his class and talk about everything, from what they ate for dinner to who twerk the best in videos. Whenever you go in his class students are learning but…
