It is a harsh reality that selfishness has taken over the moral values of our society today. Thinking about own-self is practiced by a lot of people amongst us. Although, people may have others reasons for the corruption brought about by the system of power, the advent of fear is the rationale behind every corrupt act that takes place around us. Fear of downfall, the problems caused by it, the irrational thoughts and the conversion of logical thinking to a selfish one are the main reasons behind fear of loss of power while the ones subject to this power consider themselves in constant danger and this gives rise to their superstitions and obeying the dominant and eventually corruption of their souls.
The powerful want to remain powerful regardless of what they have to do and who will be the victims of their actions which may include treachery, cheating, bribe, etc. This selfishness arises from fear. Fear of losing power makes them do things which they wouldn’t have done otherwise. Once in power, they forget the time they had spent begging others to help them and obeying the powerful in fear that they may take away their rights. The weak remain in terror as they think that their lives are in control of the powerful and put themselves into slavery of power, due to the fear that they might be punished.
