    Whose Life Is It Anyway

The playwright 'whose life is it anyway?' written by Brian Clark is based around a sculptor called Ken, who has been paralysed neck down in a car accident and is told that he will never be able to move any part of his body again. Most of the action takes place around Ken's paralyzed body and his bed. The story's centre of attention is Euthanasia (whether Ken should be allowed to take his own life or not), which serves as the main plot of the story; however there are more issues at hand. The theme of the story is more of a dark comedy but there are also more serious themes involved in the subplots, including love, drama and social issues. Throughout the play Ken is battling for his right to die seeing that he is paralyzed and will not be able to carry on with his life.…

    Whose Life Is It Anyway

In ‘Whose Life Is It Anyway?' Clark has formulated two distinctive characters – Ken Harrison and Dr. Emerson – to base his play centred around the issue of euthanasia. Ken Harrison, who is a patient, paralysed quadraplegically, makes a plea for the freedom to decide his own destiny. This becomes obvious as his perspective is presented strongly, and to a greater extent, reflecting his background, his former livelihood as a scultor, and his experience in life. The composer utilises powerful language and eloquent analogies to represent Ken's feelings and viewpoint on his own future: "For me life is over, I want it recognised because I can't do the things that I want to do, that means I can't say the things that I want to say" which provided an explanation as to why he feels the need to end his undignified life; while making a comparison between the "vegetable" and his long-term paralysis as the key reason for his passionate fight for his artistic integrity, morality and freedom.…

We all have hopes and dreams which mould us into who we become in the future. Since a very young age we have all learned to hope and dream about what the future holds for us. I know I have, and all these past years all I've done is think about what I want to be when i grow up, who my family is and where I will live. I've been filling my head with a fantasy of being a rich girl living in New York. So, I subconsciously created a blueprint in my mind of my future, and it gives me an immense pleasure to share it with all of you. So here it goes.…

Taekwondo originated in Korea about 2,000 years ago. It was developed as a form of unarmed self-defense to go along with skills with weapons. According to the World Taekwondo Federation the first recorded evidence of this martial art was found in a tomb from the Koguryŏ Kingdom (37 BCE to CE 668), in a mural showing figures practicing martial arts techniques. Historical records from this period indicate that there were taekwondo tournaments. Taesoo, kwonbak, kongsoo, bakhi, and dangsoo are all names for early forms of what is now known as taekwondo. Soobak was the mainstream form between CE 600 and 1400; starting in the late 1300s this was renamed taekyon. Taekyon was the main Korean martial art form until 1909, when Japan invaded and occupied Korea. Between 1909 and 1945, Korean culture and martial arts were suppressed and the Japanese culture and martial arts were introduced. When the Japanese were defeated in 1945, the modern period of taekwondo began. Korean martial arts masters began discussions on how to return to the original taekyon style and on how to merge the different martial arts schools called kwans, into a single style and national sport. Finally, in April 1955, the masters from the different kwans chose the name taekwondo. Taekwondo was accepted as an official sport in 1975 by the U.S. Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). Today, taekwondo is a fast-growing international art and competitive sport and is practiced in more than 190 counties worldwide. It was a demonstration sport at the 1988 Summer Olympic Games in Seoul, South Korea, and became a medal sport in 2000 at the Sydney Games, for men and women. Choi Hong Hi, known as General Choi,…

This summer was really one of my best. It was so exciting and I loved every single moment of it. I made a lot of new friends and it was really enjoyable spending time with my old friends and them too. I went to my favorite camp in the whole world, got to see my best friends from South Carolina and spent a lot of time at the river. I jumped off settles bridge for the first time in front of so many people and completely busted my butt, I had a 9x4 inch bruise on the back of my thigh but it was still so worth it because I had the courage to jump before all the boys that were on the bridge with me. They were all quite impressed and a little embarrassed. I got to spend a lot of time with my boyfriend at the pool in my backyard and the pool in his backyard and we always had tons of friends over. It was a really busy summer, so I’ll tell you about some of my most memorable moments.…
