In the novel, Ivanhoe, it is said that "Rebecca might indeed have compared with the proudest beauties of England" (Scott 71). Many men, especially Brian de Bois-Guilbert, are attracted to her because of her beauty. Even Ivanhoe, despite his undying love for the Lady Rowena, is attracted to Rebecca. Lucas Beaumanoir is even affected by her beauty and shows pity on her when she is convicted of witchcraft. As well as physical beauty, Rebecca shows she has a beautiful and kind heart.

She faces all obstacles with strength and dignity. When de Bois-Guilbert tries to force her to marry him, she bravely stood up to him. She continuously argues and rebuffs his advances. She then proceeded to fling herself out the window if he continued. She is not weak when it comes to standing up to forceful men unlike Rowena who cried when de Bracy held her captive and tried to force her to marry him. Even when she was going to be burned at the stake, she never once was tempted to renounce her faith. When everyone was against her and thought her to be a witch and that she should be put to death, she showed she had the courage to withstand it. She is a strong-willed and courageous woman who does not let men take advantage of
