Jack July Summary

After reading “Jack, July,” my initial impression was that the story was average and did not know why many people praised it. I did not like the story because the story was moving from one idea to the other without any real break in the character’s thought in between each scene. Victor Lodato also writes paragraphs that are trying to explain what happened in the scene or why it happened, but he writes it in a way that is dense and confusing to me, who is reading his work for the first time. He writes about a meth addict trying to figure out what to do with his life while dealing with personal problems at the same time, but nowhere in the text does Lodato explain what the end goal for Jack was; so the whole time I am reading the story I am wondering
