The Ripper’s Mystery Mysteries and supernatural events have fascinated humanity for centuries. One of those mysteries was” Jack the Ripper” who terrorized London in 1888 and even the whole world. The name 'Jack the Ripper' has become the most infamous in the annals of murder. Yet, the amazing fact is that his identity remains unproven
today. In the years 1888-1891, the name was regarded with terror by the residents of London's East End, and was known the world over. So shrouded in myth and mystery is this story that the facts are hard to identify at this remove in time. Although the number of kills under the belt of Jack the Ripper is unofficial, it is estimated to be around four to seven women, all prostitutes. He also had no accomplice’s or accessories to the crime. His method of attack was to let these prostitutes “seduce” him into using them for their services, which at that time he would strangle, making them unconscious in order to kill them. This was all done by stalking the victims. Jack the Ripper was a sly and sneaky person. Numerous suspects were questioned, until the time when the doctors concluded after examining the victims that the Ripper was a doctor. Since the way he handles the knife was light which shows he had studied medicine. In addition, that discovery reduced the number of suspects. Moreover, every victim had a part of her reproductive organs missing, which shows that the Ripper took it as a trophy. Jack the Ripper terrorized the whole country and the police by sending them letters. During that time many letters were sent, which most of them were thought to be jokes. However, three letters were accepted as being written by Jack the Ripper. Inside the letters, the Ripper explained to the head chief whom he considered as “the boss”, the way he killed the victim. Moreover, he always promised him that there will be another target and he told him the day of the crime. The Ripper’s victims were mutilated and had their intestines taken out of their bodies. Knowing the fact that Jack the Ripper performed some of his murders outdoors, he would not have the time. The ripper had one eye on the victim while slashing her, and another eye on the road taking caution if someone comes. The Ripper was vigilant. The Ripper may have been a sexual serial killer of a type all too common in the 1880s, but he was also bent on terrifying a city and making the whole world take notice of him by leaving his horribly mutilated victims in plain sight. In conclusion, Jack the Ripper’s story was so brutal and graphic that it is still being used today to keep the fear in everyone who wants to walk down a dark alley at night alone. His story is a mystery that was never solved and never going to be solved.
