When looking at the history of England's criminals one name should always stand out, Jack the Ripper. As he ran ramped through the streets he not only terrorized the innocent he scarred the growing children. Jack the ripper was a great importance to english literature because so much focus was put into his killings. Journalist depict him as wearing a top hat and cloaked hidden in the darkness. Jack the Ripper started to make a name for himself and was the most feared killer of his time and of all time. Jack eluded investigators and criminal profilers to this day. This gruesome murderer's crimes were some of the most disturbing crimes in history and he still is a scary thought. It's hard to think about it now but living back
Many people have tried to get inside of his head and tried to understand him as an individual and a way researchers are trying to do this is by looking at his victims. According to WhiteChapel, Jack the Ripper's Modus Operandi of killing was slashing his victims (Jack the Ripper Murder Victims).Looking at his victims, his first victim was first of five and a set. His first victims names was Emma Elizabeth Smith. According to WhiteChapel Jack, Emma was a prostitute who was beaten, raped, and then murdered, it was linked with the WhiteChapel murders based on the location and by her occupations, some experts say it was just gang violence and that was their territory and she was at the wrong place at the wrong time (Jack the Ripper Murder Victims). Emma was the first of many victims of Jack the Ripper as he terrorized people in WhiteChapel. Emma died April 3, 1888 due to the attack. Looking at the victim of Jack you start to see a pattern and location of the victims. His second victim was another prostitute named Martha Tabram. WhiteChapel Jack says, Martha was drinking on August 6, 1888 with another prostitute and some gentlemen, later that night she was walking home but never made it, the morning after on August 7 a man was coming home around 3:30 in the morning and saw her body but it was too dark and he mistook it for just a passed out drunk woman it wasn't until 5am another individual was going to the same apartment building and saw her gruesome wounds (Jack the Ripper Murder Victims). This is when we see why he has the name Jack the Ripper. According to WhiteChapel Jack, she was stabbed 39 times throughout her body the were mostly aimed at the neck, chest and lower abdomen, most experts consider her the "true" first victim of Jack the Ripper (Jack the Ripper Murder Victims).
