What are the reasons why you are attending college?
Attending college doesn’t means that you are smart. Not smart as in smart but smart as you choose the right way. The way you want to be successful in the future or to be a breadwinner of the family. You come to school because you believe that you can make a difference in your community. This essay examines or analyzes the cause and effects of learning new cultures, class assessments, and experience college life.
The first reason is learning new culture. This is a great example of our own college here at the national campus. There are over 750 students from the four FSM states attending the college every semester and these students came from bi-lingual and multi-lingual backgrounds. These students come together not just to graduate but to learn different cultures of all the states. A best way to capture all these things is during the cultural day. All states including the outer islands of Pohnpei come together to perform their culture. Culture is a very important thing to us Micronesians. For example in Pohnpei, Sakau is used to solve problems between families or traditional leaders.
The second reason of going to college is class assessments. At home, we have many things to do. We do farming, taking care of family, fishing, etc. But it is also important to go to college to learn things other things like Math, English and Computer because we cannot depend or the land itself at least we know something else. For example, if we want to conduct a research about our breadfruit we need math (statistics), English and computer skills. We need math or statistics to keep our data correct and neat. We also need English and computer skills to keep the record. And it is shame when other foreign people tell us the news about our breadfruit. This is the time we need to stand up lead our people. Doing this might help increase our gross domestic

Peering into an 8:00 am class full of freshman college students, many observations can be made. There are students with their heads down, (obviously still listening to the professor) students with their pencils racing, students with their minds wondering, and students with their attention to the teacher. As one might note, not all students have their mind focused on what they paid for. Some people go through college as a party or just because it’s become one of societies “norms”; others have a set goal in mind. However, if used to its best ability, college allows one to gain an advantage over high school diploma holders, by attaining the knowledge, skillsets, and tools to achieve or explore their career goals.…

In America, college is perceived as one of the most important decisions you will make in your lifetime. Since elementary school, students are taught so that they can one day attend to a good college. However, the question is: is college the best option? Many would say that it is, including authors David Leonhardt of The New York Times and Freeman Hrabowski, author of "Colleges Prepare People for Life". Even though David Leonhardt and Freeman Hrabowski both address the idea that college is worth it in the long run, Leonhardt provides a further convincing argument by revealing where exactly college fits into our constantly growing society, using persuasive word choice, and constantly incorporating facts and statistics.…

Everyone in America knows that college is where you want to be. At a very young and impressionable age, the children in our schools are asked what college they want to go to. As this idea that a higher education is something they’ll inevitably have, the children go on to believe they need it to have a better life. However, is that really true? Right now in the U.S. College is basically a necessity to getting a good career later in life, but sadly, as it stands now, most U.S. citizens just cannot afford to go to college and further their education. This is a really sad fact in the U.S. right now and its due mostly to the fact of colleges, instead of competing with other schools in prices and tuition rates, compete in having the nicest looking campus and the most amount of student services. Doing this is actually driving the rates of most colleges up and without reform, many citizens in the U.S. won’t even have higher education as an option to them.…
