Analysis of Sportsmanship
What is James Keating’s analysis of sportsmanship? Do you agree? Why or why not? (Pg 71-73)
All sports are different and have their own rules and regulation. Some sports are in more action involving more team players like soccer or basketball; others are more individual such as golf or tennis. But, in essence, they are cultivating the mood in order for the event to promote a pleasurable leisure activity, enjoyment, and joyfulness for people to watch. Everyone would cheer for the score; winning team would celebrate the victory. In the other hand, the losing team would be forgotten in the crowd. They were working as hard as the winning team. We should recognize the effort and support for them. Showing the good sportsmanship

    Sportsmanship means to have fair behavior to other players or the opposing team. Of course sportsmanship should involve the encouragement to any other person on the team. Sportsmanship sometimes includes a gracious act when losing a game. Instead of complaint and saying negative things to a person on the other team they would say, "Good Job," or "Good Game." Sportsmanship is involved in the book, Tangerine; they have good examples and show other people or readers of that book how to have good sportsmanship. Two main different types of sportsmanship are bad and good. They both are introduced in the book and show us that in every single game there has to be a type of sportsmanship. Whether it is good or bad they should be one. In the book, Tangerine, it shows us bad sportsmanship and kind of explains it. Then they show us good and explain that, making it a good main point for school Part 2. In the novel tangerine it reads, "We were all more relaxed before this game, except for Victor. He was already talking trash to some of the Kinnow middle school players, reminding them about something that had happened last year. They were giving it right back to him, saying stuff like, 'Hey, Guzman, why are you on the girls' team?     The Sirens in Greek mythology, were the daughters of Phorcys the sea-god. Writers generally claimed to say they were a group of three. Also that their home is an island in the western sea between Aeanea, the island of Circe, and the rock of Scylla. They are nymphs, or beautiful girls, of the sea. Their way of living was to lure mariners to the island by their sweet songs, and viciously kill the mariners. Unfortunately, mariners weren't ever able to escape the sirens once they heard the sweet songs because the sirens songs were hypnotizing. As soon as the mariners were hypnotized by the music the Sirens would then fulfill their duty and eat the mariners. Most did not know how to avoid the Sirens songs until Odysseus, warned by Circe what to do. Odysseus and his crew stopped their ears with wax and Odysseus bond himself to the mast of the ship until he was out of hearing range of the island. The Sirens were destined to live only on the island until someone heard their song without being hypnotized. Then the Sirens would fling themselves into the sea and were changed into sunken rocks. When the adventures of Odysseus were localized on the Italian and Sicilian coasts, the sirens were transferred to the neighborhood of Neapolis and surrentum. The Sirens wanted to be closer to the tomb of one of them, parthenope, was shown in time at neapolis, where a gymnastic contest with a torch-race was held in her honour. Various explanations are given of the Sirens. The Sirens were beautiful women of the sea, which is know known as deceiving calm seas. The sea is known as this because of the Sirens behavior, which is hiding their horrible killing by a deceiving smiling they show. Or, they symbolize the magic power of beauty, eloquence, and song. The Sirens images are placed over the graves of beautiful women and maidens. Another conception of them is that of singers for the dead, which they are often used in the adornment of tombs, and represented…
