The name of my piece is called “Nothing But A Broken Heart.” I (Jamiah) am a girlfriend that gets abused by her boyfriend. I have been in a relationship with my boyfriend for a while. Me and my boyfriend met at the movie theatre. Every since we met at the movie theatre, we been talking and dating. Markkeith (Brandon) is my friend. Me and Markkeith don’t really talk like that because I don’t want to take it further than it already is. Derek (Christopher) is my boyfriend. Me and my boyfriend talk everyday. We also see each other and when we not together we are talking on the phone and etc. Brinisha (Amy) is my cousin. Me and my cousin also talk everyday when we aren’t together. My cousin is also in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend Brandon, my friend.
To show that we are in a happy relationship, we use moves such as partnering, mirroring each other, holding hands, and etc. In the middle of my dance, you will start to see my boyfriend abuse me. In my dance, we use multiple dance moves. For example, my boyfriend drags me away from my cousin for me to stay in the relationship with him, he breaks up me and my cousin holding hands, and steps over me and starts punching me in the face. I stayed in the relationship because I loved him. He starts to abuse me because he came from an abusive household and takes his anger out on me . Since his father kept abusing him and he wasn’t able to do nothing, he abused me. At the end, you will see me leaving or walking away from my boyfriend in which he reaches for me to come back.
