Janet Muck Redefining Realness
In Janet Mock’s memoir “Redefining Realness” she talks about what it is was like to live in an environment that is was financially unstable and as a transgender women of color in a time where that was not necessarily understandable. At many points in the memoir you could say that is what she defined real, but I would have to use the example on page 116 where Mock said that “Realness means that you are extraordinary in your embodiment of what society deems normative.
