The statement mentioned above contradicts the rest of what Jan wrote in this category. Jan states that Tyler’s team there are well-defined goals set, and that he collaborates well with the team and provides fair and valid performance feedback. Team management in a review should be based on his ability to clearly assign responsibility for tasks and decisions, set clear objectives and measures, monitors process, progress, and results. He should state that while he know Jan might be doing it in a jokingly matter, it is affecting him adversely and he would prefer for Jan to stop with the remarks it. Tyler should make a note of date that this feedback was provided to Jan and if his remarks continue he shall then bring it up to the HR department. It is important for Tyler to dissect his performance review with Jan and ask for specific examples that reflect the results of his performance. Tyler should ask for some clarity on the statements mentioned above and share why he might disagree, perception is key and it is important to learn why Jan may have this perception of Tyler. He can say something along the lines of, “I am disappointed that you have found my performance below your expectations in some areas.
