we had supplied and technically helped Japan take China territories. But when they joined with the axis powers, the United States ended up placing an oil embargo on Japan in an effort to hurt their economy(Pearl Harbor). As a way to get back at the United States, Pearl harbor was hit and the United States and Japanese battles in the Pacific initiated. For little more understanding reasons, the Japanese also didn’t particularly like the Chinese as well, primarily because they wanted to expand. Not only that, but the Japanese saw themselves as having far more superiority over the Chinese and other smaller countries, thinking that everyone else was beneath them. The Japanese showed this and used that to manipulate the minds of their own people by using propaganda. Posters and images everywhere showing little mercy to victims and encouraging further harm was shown everywhere. Furthermore, they used film, cartoons, books and magazines/newspapers to inspire detrimental to people unlike the Japanese(Friedman). This process of thinking and believing they deserved all led to further invasion and rationale for the horrific things done to the Chinese, the Koreans, the Philippines, and many other smaller territories during World War II.(Friedman). Even now most of these territories still have some sort of hatred toward the Japanese, one, for what they did to their people, and two, for not ever feeling remorse for it.
