Japes And Oh Case Summary
scrutiny he couldn't perform his one task of occupying the executives.
After a number of outings, similar to the basketball trip, Japes and Oh were accused of abusing the hotels trade policy. To start with, there was no trade policy and all the trades or exchanges that Japes and Oh had ever done were approved and endorsed by Bootlick. An unhappy new server made the complaint stating that the trades benefited only a few and set a poor example for the rest. Jersey and Oh had planned a much smaller outing to go see a comedy show in the city. One of the reasons for the outing was to console Rupee, the limousine driver, who had lost his son to cancer. Rupee would drive the gang in to the city and as a result of an overnight room trade the ten managers

The ramifications of this run-of-the-mill outing would forever change the hotel's culture and became known as “The Spanish Inquisition”.
Japes, Oh, and Bubblehead were all summoned to the woodshed for a meeting with Bootlick and Snub-nose. A night auditor had written to the owners making outrageous accusations in particular stating what Oh, months earlier, had said about screwing a guest's wife and more recently the outing to the comedy show. Bubblehead was at the meeting and for some reason he was supporting the audit servers accusations in a hopes to get Oh and Japes fired. Bootlick, in his usual fashion, denied any knowledge of the outing and any trades involved. This was a flat out lie. Japes, although he did not plan the outing, took responsibility of what transpired emphatically stating that nothing was done without approval. The hotel periodically would comp guest rooms, and more specifically Japes had full authority to do so at his own discretion. He reiterated that all the trades the movie theater in particular benefited everyone in the hotel. The particular outing in question was to a comedy show for mature audiences, which would have been inappropriate for the ladies. All interested

In the article “Urban Renaissance Meets the Middle Ages” Lopez wills numerous rhetorical devices to do his bidding as he writes to create for his readers a world of hugely disproportionate lifestyles. Set in Los Angeles, these two lifestyles that are less than a stone’s throw away from one another makes for an interesting subject matter. “They’re yours for the taking: Luxury lofts in downtown Los Angeles, with rooftop pools, swanky cabanas, and views of Porta Potti brothels on skid row.” In this, the first sentence of this passage cleverly sets up the tone, and point of this…

In the time period of the Inquisition, a great deal of restriction was imposed on its subjects. The Inquisition was established during a time in which many people were emigrating – for various different reasons – to European and South American countries, bringing their values and cultures with them. This naturally brought about a multitude of conflicts between existing citizens and immigrants. Some pose the argument that due to this more prevalent blend of cultures across the world, the Inquisition led to more legal action and punishments for – what some argue to be – trivial and petty crimes, such as witchcraft and sodomy. However, we, as readers, understand these cases in different manners, based on the sources that we derive information…

Joseph Pérez not only described the Spanish Inquisition by summarizing the contents of this “regime,” but also his main thesis and interpretation are based on criticizing the origins of anti-Semitism, how the Spanish Inquisition “defended the Catholic faith” against Jews, Muslims, Protestantism, and witchcraft. Also, Pérez continues his thesis and interpretations when he argued against the trials and organization of “the Holy Office”—the Inquisition. Finally, Pérez reinforced his main thesis by arguing and comparing the Spanish Inquisition with modern regimes, such as Nazi…

Arenas writes this book through his imaginations and pastimes in Cuba as if it were his diaries. He analyzes his secrecy with artistic writing and sex. Reinaldo Arenas says, My sexual activity was all with animals. First there were the hens, then the goats and the sows, and after I had grown up some more, the mares (Arenas 149).” This shows the indifference towards women and the rest of the societies interests. In other words, Reinaldo was a homosexual and hid through his fear of the totalitarian government by taking his pain out with the animals. This book represents Reinaldo’s search for…

The Spanish Inquisition was a controversial time primarily during the 15th century. However, it kept reoccurring during other parts of history rather than only in the 15th century. There were many different methods used in which non-Christians would be tortured. Sometimes, the wrong people would be tortured if they believed that the person they were torturing really wasn’t Christian. The torturing of people because of their religion is what makes the Spanish Inquisition such a disturbing and dark part of history. The reason for the Spanish Inquisition was because the Christians conquered Spain again, which led to the Christians forcing non-Christian people, such as Jews, to convert to Christianity. Any non-Christian who refused to convert to Christianity would be prosecuted and tortured using different methods such as…
