In the Bourne Identity, most of the stunts are close combat. Unlike many other films, such as James bond and Mission Impossible 3, the weapons used by Jason Bourne are objects lying around him at the time and his excellent and mysterious combat skills. Films that I would compare The Bourne Identity to would be the James Bond Series because it is the same sort of thrilling action that grips people. The Bourne Identity is also based on a novel by Robert Ludlum. Liman probably wanted to make the Bourne Identity into a film as he is a fan of Ludlum's Bourne Identity novel. The audience watching the film gets the feeling of excitement that Liman most probably had when reading and directing the Bourne Identity. This is good because the watchers are able to enjoy the film and get the most out of it.
