Jelly Donuts: Character Analysis
Jelly Donuts

It should be around in this block...aha! There it is! Roxie thought. It was four in the afternoon, and she just got out of school. She got a text from her best friend Pippy to come to her parents' Dunkin' Donuts quickly. Pippy was an energetic thirteen year old that still acted like a kid. Her curly, red hair tied in pigtails bounced constantly when she was happy. Roxie, meanwhile, was a tomboy with dark, shaggy hair and usually wears her soccer uniform to school. She goes to Pippy's middle school, but Pippy's in seventh grade and Roxie's in eighth grade, so they don't see each other often during school hours. Roxie knew that Pippy's parents died two weeks ago from a house fire, and it's been a hard time for her, so Roxie doesn't

Roxie picked it up, and noticed that it was a text from Pippy. It read "you're next". What? Next for what? She was really panicking now. Normally, she'll just keep cool about it, but this was different. Knowing Pippy for about eight years, she knew that her friend could be really unpredictable. Things just got worse. After reading the text, Roxie heard a swooshing sound, along with footsteps. The footsteps seemed to be going around the entire store except the wall in front of her. The footsteps ended with the door being locked. She turned around, and she saw that all the blinds were closed. No person in sight. OK, this is just getting weird. She then turned back around to face the wall with the jelly donuts on the shelves, well, there used to be jelly donuts on the shelves. They were all gone, along with the donut Roxie took a bite on. She heard heavy breathing that wasn't hers. She turned back around and nearly had a heart attack. Right in front of her face was Pippy, but she was barely recognizable. Her entire body was covered in a cloak, and she was grinning a very wide smile. On her left hand was the jelly donut Roxie ate, and on her right hand was...well...it was a …show more content…

Oh, Pippy. I didn't recognize you. Um, why are you holding a knife?" "I want revenge," she replied carelessly. "Er...revenge on what?" "Oh, Roxie. You can be so clueless sometimes," Pippy giggled creepily. "In case you're wondering why I'm even here in this Dunkin' Donuts store, I wanted my parents' business to continue running. Of course, a donut shop can't run without donuts, so I stocked up these shelves with donuts that have my secret ingredient. You wanna know what the secret ingredient is? I'll give you a hint." She leaned over to Roxie's ear and whispered, "It's people." Wait a minute...the blood from the jelly donuts. Was the blood from her victims? Roxie thought. It all was suddenly making sense, and it looks like she was about to be Pippy's next victim. Unfortunately, it was a bit too late. Pippy grinned once more, dropped the jelly donut on her left hand, and suddenly pinned Roxie down. Her friend screamed, a blood curling scream, as she saw Pippy lift her knife up and come right down, targeting her heart. Roxie closed her eyes and took her final

Pip continues to remember his visit and later goes on to detail an even scarier description: a “faded spectre in the chair by the dressing-table glass….” Pip is comparing Miss Havisham to a ghost, seemingly unreal and unrelatable to a mortal human. He has a lack of connection to Miss Havisham, seeing her as something static and unchanging, like an old house or a room, in contrast to how he views himself, dynamic and changing. Next, Pip discusses how he feels the “stopping of the clocks had stopped Time in that mysterious place….” Again, everything around Pip is changing: he’s apprenticed to Joe, it’s his birthday, and Biddy moved in with his family, but Miss Havisham and her property remain the same. Estella’s feelings towards Pip hasn’t changed either, as she is still as cold and distant as she was the first time she met Pip. The strangeness of Miss Havisham and her manor astonishes Pip, and, despite him being dreadfully afraid of them, he still feels himself looking closer and becoming more and more fascinated and obsessed with them. This attraction towards Miss Havisham surfaces later in the novel, when Pip becomes convinced that Miss Havisham has a plan for him and Estella together despite having no evidence of…

When the girls arrived at Rivercote, Governess Miss Matthews told them that Lois was to wear a blue hair ribbon and Lettice a pink ribbon; little did she know how much trouble this would cause. The girls were constantly changing ribbons and fooling everyone. Because of their mischievous nature, whenever something happened, their head mistress, Miss Clark, would constantly blame them. The main adventure in the book was the mystery of the food getting stolen from the school kitchen. Miss Clark blamed the twins numerous times, and numerous times they denied stealing the food. It became harder for them to deny stealing food when they were caught in the kitchen with their best friend Jane. They pleaded their case to Miss Mathews saying they were trying to catch the ghost, but even so they came perilously close to expulsion.…

As I tried to maneuver my body through all of the blood that had accumulated on the floor, I heard a loud gash and all the sudden the screaming that was once coming from my sister had stopped instantly; then what sounded to be a sharp object repeatedly pierced and stabbed for what I counted to be 27 times. Tears began to stream down my face and I started hyperventilating. I heard footsteps coming down the hallway and I tried to quiet myself down; the footsteps were getting closer and I crawled my way into the room in front of me, which happened to be the bathroom. The tub was overflowing and what seemed to be blood was dripping out of it beneath the curtain, I easily opened the curtain, but I slipped into the bloody tub, landing on what felt to be…
