The couple has two children; Sauri, who is 11, and Upusi, who is 6. The couple’s decision to only have two children was weighed by the amount of labor the children can contribute to the extended household versus how much each child costs in terms of the amount of sustenance needed and available to sustain…
The Bozich’s are a family of three that lives in Evergreen Park, Illinois. Michael, 39, is the father; Brynn, 38, is the mother; Sandra, 11, is the daughter. Michael works as a pediatric surgeon at Advocate Children’s Hospital and Brynn is a pharmacist at CVS Health. They chose these occupations because of the satisfaction it brings to them and the salary to provide to their family. Some alternatives that were considered was a nurse and a teacher. They rejected those occupations because the less satisfaction they’d have. Both Michael and Brynn are doing jobs in which they are qualified, and have chosen their places of employment because they enjoy living in Evergreen Park. Sandra is in the sixth grade at Southwest Elementary School.…

“The very essence of leadership is its purpose. And the purpose of leadership is to accomplish a task. That is what leadership does-and what it does is more important than what it is or how it works.” This quote by Colonel Dandridge M. Malone, shows that leadership needs to be focused on what it accomplishes instead of just being leadership for leadership’s sake. To me, a leader is simply someone who has a mind of their own; someone who sets their own path instead of following another’s.…

Christina Snyder presents to readers an incredibly articulated diagram of the deep rooted history of slavery and the role Native Americans played in it. Snyder’s discussion is centralized around the economic and culture ties slavery participated to in Native American life before and after European introduction into North America. A vial part in understanding the role of slavery to the natives is being able to distinguish why there was a need for slavery to be implemented and to understand how the slaves would be integrated into the societies of the natives.1 From this discussion Snyder explains how a need for slave labor preexisted the integration of Europeans into the Natives society, but there inclusion ultimately altered the way slavery…
In 2013 changes in child benefits came into effect in the UK. In particular, child benefit was gradually withdrawn from individuals earning over £50,000 a year and completely withdrawn for individuals earning more than £60,000 a year. Investigate, using the standard labour supply model, how this change in benefits will affect labour supply decisions for a single mother with two children who is able to find work at £30/hour. Assume that she would opt-out of maximum working time regulation in case this becomes relevant. Finally, the measure of income used in the actual calculation is “adjusted net income”, which is equal to gross income minus pension contributions and several other things. For this essay assume that all of these are zero, i.e. the relevant income is simply the individual’s salary before income tax.…

The first part of the quote is a simile and the second part is a metaphor. Macbeth is reluctant to murder the king. But Lady Macbeth, driven by ambition, instigates him to kill Duncan when he is asleep. She tells him to put on an appearance of innocence but be as venomous as the snake that hides behind it. "be thou the serpent under it" is a metaphor because the word of comparison is absent and both Macbeth and Serpent are spoken of as one and the same. By doing this, it gives the reader a sense of just how evil and two-faced Macbeth is told to be.…

For this application we will take a family of four made up of a mom, dad and 2 sibling sisters. The mom is 42 years old with a part time job working at a local school. Dad is 43 with a full time job in sales and is the primary money contributor. Their eldest daughter is 13 and the youngest daughter is 8. The dad gets in a car accident driving to work one day and breaks his leg and subsequently can’t work. Due to this shift in the family dynamics and the decrease in income the mom takes on more hours at the school where she already works. The two daughters are used to having their mother home when they return to school but due to this shift she is no longer home when they arrive. The dad becomes seemingly withdrawn and depressed due to his inability to walk or to work. The dad stops participating in family activities and is only interacting with his daughters when they are dropped off at home from school before they run to their rooms. The 13 year old daughter starts acting out by talking back more to her parents and pushing boundaries. The 8 year old daughter who in the past has been very loving and wanting to be around her parents is now seeing her sisters actions and begins to act out of character. This family finds themselves within phase 3 and 4 of the family life cycle; having young child and an adolescent. Before the accident each member…
