Jerry Spinelli's 'Maniac Magee'
In the book Maniac Magee, Jerry Spinelli, made Jeffery very productive by being productive on every task he had to complete. One of the biggest times Maniac Magee was productive was when Amanda Beale said no to letting Magee have a book of hers. He was productive and eventually got the book on page 10-12. Try to imagine how hard it would be to get that book from Amanda if you seemed like you had no interest in the book.It would be next to impossible because she loves her books, and to give a book to some random kid who doesn't care about a book would never happen. Luckily Maniac Magee loved to read, and he wanted to learn so he ended up getting the book he worked so hard for. Jerry Spinelli, really went above and beyond on this book by making

In my opinion, I felt the essay “The Lottery” by Chris Abani was written incredibly well because it contained exceptionally descriptive and graphic information all the way through the entire article which made me want to read more. I believe the contents included an awfully emotional incident that might perhaps be very personal to the writer and one that will definitely never be forgotten in sight, smell, sound and/or in mind. In addition, I think the article was very well written as throughout the story, the writer is especially illustrative on the surroundings and uses the senses in his writing. Also, the author grabs the attention of a reader by displaying characters feeling towards the issue at hand and demonstrates his points of view…

“A Child Called It” is a heart wrenching, page turner, must read, novel. Child abuse is such an important issue that needs to be spoken about, and that is just what this author did. The author of this novel, Dave Pelzer describes his own cruel life that he was subjected to from such an early age. It becomes obvious, very quick into the reading, that the author certainly went through great trauma. The visual imagery Pelzer shares, such as being forced to eat his own vomit, swallow soap, surviving in a “gas chamber,” as well having his baby brothers dirty diaper smudged in his face, makes it known that his abusive life, unfortunately really did happen.…

Christopher DeLorenzo addresses the best ways to cut in line in his article, “How to Cut in Line: A scientific approach”. He does highlight some good ways to get away with cutting the line, but this does not mean I agree with the idea of cutting. Line cutting is by far the worst of all offenses that can be done against others. I know it doesn’t really matter if one person gets in front of me in the lunch line, but is it really fair? I went to my locker, got my books, and jumped in line. ‘What’s a few seconds’ is the response I get from my friends who say it doesn’t matter. This is true, but it’s not the seconds that matter to me. It’s the fact that people who cut in line act like their time is more precious than mine. Now, that doesn’t mean…

These aliens are portrayed in Floyd Looney’s “When the Tardigrades Came…” These aliens instead of taking over the planet, did the opposite, they adopted the culture of humans. It took some time for both sides to get more used to each other, but not all the culture of the aliens was lost. This bit of culture not lost, was kept secret from the humans, and when the humans found out, there was an outrage. The difference between the aliens and humans is shown in the cultural differences between them, and the alien’s resistance to fully adopt the culture of humans affects the human’s opinion of them.…

We are all children of a mighty God. He created us without a single flaw, spot or imperfection. We are all unique in his eyes, and that's all that should matter. There’s no doubt in my mind that he knows my name, because he loves me. Francesca Battistelli’s song “He knows My Name” shows that while we are living on this earth there is evil, however God will love us unconditionally forever even when when make mistakes and sin.
