Who is Jesus Christ for Christians? Jesus is the Son of God, and on earth he was the personification of God. Jesus was born approximately 6 B.C. in Bethlehem (Israel). His mother Mary was a virgin who was engaged to Joseph, a carpenter. Jesus came to show people how to live well and he taught the ways of God. Christians believe that when Jesus died, he died for all people's sins.
Important Locations in Christianity Nazareth is Jesus' hometown and the site of many holy places, including the Church of the Annunciation (the announcement of the Incarnation by the angel Gabriel to Mary) and Mary’s Well.     Jesus Christ, 33, of Nazareth, was crucified on Mount Calvary. Betrayed by the apostle Judas, Jesus was crucified by the Romans, by order of the Ruler Pontius Pilate. The causes of death were crucifixion, extreme exhaustion, severe torture, and loss of blood. Jesus Christ, a descendant of Abraham, the Son of Joseph, a carpenter of Nazareth, and Mary, His loving Mother. Jesus was born in a stable in the city of Bethlehem. He was loved by many including His faithful Apostles, numerous disciples, and many other followers. Jesus was self educated and spent most of his adult life working as a Carpenter and a Teacher. Up until the time of His death, Jesus was teaching and sharing the Good News, healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and helping the poor. Jesus was most noted for preaching about His father’s kingdom and performing miracles, such as feeding over 5,000 people with only five loaves of bread and two fish, and healing a man who was born blind.
