Jesus Colon faced a situation that would involve his help, but with his skin. He felt afraid. Mr. Colon could receive severe consequences such as being beaten or arrested since he is color of his skin would make the the woman uncomfortable. If the woman were in danger it would be a different situation he could help her no matter what skin color. If the incident happen during day it would be different since thy are many to help the woman and her children.
3. A description of people perspective that Jesus Colon believed since his is black and Puerto Rican would make the white lady uncomfortable asking help than saying nothing. Label shaped his positive and couragement towards other people. Mr. Colon made the right decision because he didn't
know the outcome of the situation. It would have been if he were white since he would not have to worry about his skin color. The victim was based on the larger society causing Colon to wonder about the situation based on stereotyping.
4. Courtesy meaning the showing of politeness in one's attitude and behavior toward others. Courtesy and civility relates to showing politeness such as confidence and respect. Colon buried lack of confidence of being a man.
5. Colon should have helped the white lady and her children out of the subway station. I would believe the woman respond would have yes since she has a lot of children to take care of and needs help. I believe Colon would be more open to others in way of poltieness.
