The second source analysis, is of two cavemen talking, underneath is the caption “bloody immigrants taking the indigenous peoples jobs” . Which is rather ironic considering that the cavemen are clearly of a European standpoint, and they immigrated to the New World seeking power, land, and resources. They all but stole …show more content…
the lives of the indigenous people, and in some cases they did take lives. They ripped them of their religious, and spiritual connection with the land, and gave them the title of barbarians and savages, because they did not look the same, or speak the same. To this day most Europeans still have a Eurocentric view, it's not their fault but someone else’s fault.
The quote, is from Hugh Jackman and he speaks about his love for the food that he has been exposed to year after year, as a result of multiculturalism.
Being exposed to different foods, culture is rather important for the development of a child. If a child is raised with little to no connection with the world, they will become very narrow minded, which could lead to them being egocentric and that could cause some havoc in the community if they were to move into a more diverse community. The melting pot ideology is very narrow minded, and causes on race to believe they are better than all, this poses a problem on society if there is a group of individuals who are narrow minded it could start riots, most of the time those with narrow minds, are the result of the lack of education, and experience with others outside of their
families.
My ideological perspective from these sources is that the exposure of multiculturalism, is not going to result in the melting pot theory, but expand and open the minds of individuals around the globe, and have a deeper respect for other cultures, and how people identify themselves. That immigrants are only taking the jobs no one wants, that just like everyone else they want freedom to express who they are, and what they believe. Internationalism and multiculturalism, are important factors in the way society grows, and should be an important thing schools teach about, in order to broaden the perspectives of the next generation, in order to prevent wars and cultural/ racial genocide.
