The first biblical reference in the story that is seen on many other pages is the cross like symbol on Joan’s chest plate and it is strangest spotless even though she is bleeding everywhere right above it. The second reference is Joan’s position when she is getting laid upon a table is another reference to the biblical cross, this is very interesting seeing how on the rest of the panels that shows Joan laying down it is not in a shape of a cross as seen in the first panel. Although it is not mentioned on this page the flags that Joan carries into the battle on previous pages are religious themed due to the Fleur-De-Lis (the saint symbol) because it is also a religious symbol. Religious and biblical references are everywhere in the graphic novel and the more you find the more you understand the story along with Joan’s connection with her religion.

The art style and the biblical references not only work well together but also with the other aspect not mentioned. This Graphic novel is very entertaining and it teaches you a lot about the 14th to 15th century, it is worth the time to read and
