In the Hunger Games series, Collins uses a quantity of history that relate to Ancient Rome. Hunger Games has many allusions connecting to Ancient Rome, in which many include the Colosseum in Rome and Panem. The Colosseum is where gladiators would fight to death for the entertainment of the citizens of the Empire Capitol.
