Job at Union Tobacco, Inc.
If I was Janet I would not take the job at Union Tobacco, Inc., I cannot ethically represent a company that sold tobacco products to youth just because I can get money from the company I was so against and I also would not want that company on my resume. This is true that by working for this company it would show that I have marketing experience, but any company that I will apply to in the future will judge me based on my previous employment with Union Tobacco, Inc., I would rather live by my ethical codes and work for a company that do care for people’s health and sold products that are not dangerous for people causing them any harm.
The important thing at this point of my career is that I will work for a company that I believe in and I believe what I am doing is a right thing to do, even if it’s not in marketing. I will still get experience and I have plenty of time finding my dream job and follow my dreams in near future. I believe getting any business experience is important so I will take another job in other business industry that I feel good about it and do not cause harm to anyone.
According to utilitarianism our obligation or duty in any situation is to perform the action that will result in the greatest possible balance of good over evil. So I will go for the good and choose not to work in such companies.
I am just one person that will get benefit from this company. I will have a job and money getting from this company but this company will harm many people which will cause them even death and I will be a part of that action when I am working for this company.
If I take this job I will have an entry level job. I cannot make a change in the company as I am not in the position of doing something for helping people from this danger. I don’t think I can do anything here. I will always feel bad about what I am doing by working for this company. I will feel guilty that I am a part of a company while I am aware of all the side effects of their products and

Nicollo Machiavelli once said, “Win through your actions, never through argument.” We are only arguing why human service is better, but we are not taking any action because of this, technology service will replace human service, therefore we should embrace the pros of technology rather than talking about all the cons of technology and corporate. If you are saying corporation are greedy, ignorant, and Machiavellian; what makes you any better person? Would you fire people to make more money? The corporations are trying to make more money to extend their business. I think everyone would have done the same thing that corporations have done if we have the opportunity to save our business with any mean necessary such as firing people to grow financially. You also have to remember that some of those corporations started from nothing and if they could do it, we can do it as well, so we should not judge them for their action because someday we or our children would be in the same spot as they…

I tried to see the good side of a corporation having legal rights while writing this essay but found that the cons far outweigh the pros. With the corporation’s characteristics of callous unconcern for the feeling of others, its incapacity to maintain enduring relationships, the reckless disregard for the safety of others, being deceitful by repeatedly lying and conning others for profit, its incapacity to feel guilt, and failure to conform to social norms with respect to lawful behaviour, a corporations is equivalent to being a psychopath (YouTube, 2011), and giving a corporation legal rights is akin to giving this psychopath the freedom to do as he pleases. The examples mentioned in this essay are only a glimpse of how the corporation is abusing its rights in our world and will continue doing so till we are but a mere speck of dust and our world is reduced to ashes. The day corporations realise that profit is not only about earning money, but saving lives of the people, saving time and resources, and saving our world, will be the day that corporate personhood will be welcomed by…

    Major In Success Essay

The first step to leading a successful life is finding what you enjoy and be good at it. Combs says that when you are feeling good about something and you are actively engaged in it, you have found a passion. He tells us to use our “built-in compass,” which is our emotions. Only you will know if something angers, bores, or excites you. Your “gut feeling” lets you know if you should continue to pursue something. I definitely agree with this because it reminds me of Harvey MacKay’s quote, “Find something you love to do, and you will never work have to work a day in your life.” In the past, there was a marketing internship that I did not enjoy because I knew that this wasn’t what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So, I found a company that allowed me to use my marketing skills to help people in the medical industry. I truly enjoy it and feel like I am vacationing every time I go to work. Channeling your knowledge and emotions towards finding what you are passionate about is very rewarding. This process will lead to a successful life, both physically and spiritually.…

As future career could determine the status and income level of people, it has been concerned and discussed by most graduated students. However, according to the report ‘ Journal of Marketing Education’, the U.S. Labor Department anticipated that there would be only 14million college-level jobs for about 18 million graduates in 2005 (Gualt, et.al. 2000) and the graduates should realize that it has been more difficult to find a job in fierce competition. Meanwhile, the former Secretary of Labour Robert Reich suggested that professional skill training and internship experiences are required by 80% of these college-level jobs (Gualt, et al. 2000). Therefore, some people argued that work experience is an aid and beneficial to their future career.…

I like options, I like security, and I like power. With these wants, I knew at a very early age that I would enter business and thus I attended a college that specializes in the subject. In my first position out of school, I was hired by Dunhill Equities as a cold-caller. After several weeks of being hung up on by angry prospects, I decided that this career path would not lead me to success. I then moved within the firm to a position as sales assistant. While this was by no means my dream job, I learned a tremendous amount about business, and I gained useful exposure to the world of finance. Unfortunately, the company hit a period of instability, and after ten months I transferred with my boss to Coleman & Company. Thirteen months later, that company also began to fail, and I began to search for another path to advancement. With two strikes against me, I hit a home run and was hired by Sanford Bernstein into a challenging job with limitless opportunity for growth.…
