Job Satisfaction
As most people spend the majority of their life at work job satisfaction is an important element of everyone’s individual well-being. “Job satisfaction is a positive feeling that one gets about a job resulting from an evaluation of its characteristics (Robbins, S. P., & Judge, T. A. pg. 75, 2013).”The top five factors and why they are important to me would have to be job security, relationship with co-workers, safety with in the work place, compensation / pay, and benefits.
Job security
Job security is important to me so that I can avoid any financial problems in this bad economy that we are living in. Even if we are unsatisfied with our job we have to continue with it. This does not mean do a poor job because this is not a job that you would have chosen. Ultimately most that are unhappy with a job could say that happiness comes only when your needs are fulfilled and priorities are met. My priorities would be paying my bills and providing for my family.
Relationship with Co-workers
My relationship with my co-workers is important to me because if I am going to spend most of my time with them then I need to be able to work with them. I want to know can they help me get the job done. Are they lazy? Do they work with an attitude? Will I enjoy being around them? We need to be able to work together as a team to get the job done correctly and efficiently. Sometimes we find that work can be a little overwhelming. Having a friend at work will allow us to open up during stressful times. By having a relationship with people within the work place it would allow us to celebrate our work-related victories, such as promotions, pay raises, and retirement. Workplace accomplishments can turn into memorable experiences with a group of friends at your side.
Safety
I feel more comfortable in a place where safety is a top priority. I want to be able to go to and leave work safe. For me safety issues and accidents cut down on production time with repairs and employee recovery. If

The issue whether a company’s long-term success depending on the job satisfaction and job security felt by employees is complex and controversial. Different people hold different ideas due to their own respective angles. Some people think that job satisfaction and job security are the most important things that a manager should consider, while others asserts that other factors such as productivity or extensive training play more important roles. Everyone has their own way to express their satisfaction about their employee, however, job Satisfaction, according to Williams J., is defined as "the extent to which people like (satisfaction) or dislike (dissatisfaction) their jobs" (Spector, 1997, p. 2). This definition suggests job satisfaction is a general or global affective reaction that individuals hold about their job. However, according to Stephen P. Robbins and Timothy A Judge, job satisfaction is defined as a positive feeling about ones job resulting from an evaluation of its characteristics. There are so many factors that can explain how much people feel about their job and why they are changing jobs over and over. Between all of those factors the ones that I chose are the following starting from the highest level to the lowest one: job security, opportunities to use skills and abilities, safety in the work environment, career advancement opportunities and Benefits. How those factors become very important for my job satisfaction?…

Each of us sometimes ever questions why we give so much time, skill and energy to our current job. Job satisfaction is rarely measured by the size of the paycheck. Highway construction site flag men and workers on garbage trucks perform important duties that some of us would not want to do for more than a summer job. They find their jobs rewarding and fulfilling because they recognize that they play important roles in society. In an office environment, opportunities for advancement and recognition of each individual's contributions and talents are big influences on whether a job is fulfilling. The less stress there is, the better, but most men will accept a certain amount of pressure if they feel recognized and respected. How well an employee relates to the company's leadership style and corporate values are also key factors in job satisfaction.
